The event will take place on Friday, March 09, 2018 at Discovery Green located at 1500 McKinney, Houston, Texas 77010 from 6 to 10 p.m.

It is free, open to the public and family-friendly.

The Blind Suns

From the Atlantic shore's breeze to the wild Slavic lands, French-Polish band The Blind Suns joined the edges of Europe to create and shape their own Pop with surf-fuzz guitars and reverb drenched vocal harmonies. .They recently worked with US-producer Charles Rowell (Crocodiles) on a new LP "Offshore"(Deaf Rock Records / Wild Valley Records). The album is scheduled for a 2018 release. Listen to their new single, Ride: bit.ly/ridetheblindsuns

Tomar and the FCs

Tomar and the FCs released their first EP O'Day by Daye in 2015. It was selected as a top release by Deborah Sengupta Stith of the Austin American Statesman. In 2016, NPR Music picked Tomar and the FCs to represent the city for their Tiny Desk Concert series. The band's first full length, "Heart Attack", was recorded and mixed at Level One Sound with Grammy winning artist Adrian Quesada. The band had a number of festival appearances in 2017, all culminating with an appearance at the Austin City Limits music festival in October. They are hard at work on their 3rd recording, due out in the fall of 2018.

The Great Novel

The Great Novel has been riding on the arid plains for many moons. Bourbon on their breath, they follow a sonic trail that splits the spaghetti western and the white noise of the city they call home. With groaning strings and stretching skins they weave a story to inhabit, reinventing themselves in the spirit of the band.

They have over four years together and many accomplishments, two albums co-produced by Dany Placard, critical acclaim, extensive touring, and a theme song for Radio Canada's series 'Sur Les Traces de Kerouac'. With hundreds of shows in their holsters, the Great Novel takes aim on their upcoming record with only one mantra: 'You've got to shed your skin on the road of existence.'

In addition to the live music performances, concert attendees will have the opportunity to taste an exclusive selection of gourmet dishes from France and francophone countries (crepes, quiches, macarons, pastries and other delicacies).

The French Cultures Festival celebration month gathers every year over 30 institutional partners from, museums, universities, schools and other cultural organizations, diplomatic representations. The Festival features numerous events including exhibits, concerts, performances, film screenings, lectures and many other educational and cultural activities.
