- Texas Snakes
Educational Programs and Snake Shows for schools, day cares and birthday parties. Texas Snakes gives snakes the respect they deserve.
- Texas Arrowheads
A great Kid friendly online museum of Texas Arrowheads, Artifacts, and Rocks. Go ahead and pick the brain of David Crain the Arrowhead Man.
Frontier Times Magazine was published during a time when early Texas settlers, pioneers cattlemen and observers of the events were still alive and able to tell their stories. (1923 - 1954) Its articles are written largely from the vantage point of the eye-witness observer or actual participant in the event. Now they are available online exclusively from FrontierTimesMagazine.com. The site has an extensive search engine to direct you to specific people, places and events. I have already found two of my family members mentioned in a story about an Indian altercation in Central Texas.
- Black History in Texas
A great page of resources for Black History in Texas.
- The "Bob Bullock" Texas State History Museum
This is a great museum. The museum was dedicated in April of 2001.
An extensive page covering the history of a West Texas city that at first glance doesn't appear to have a history. Lots of old pictures and an extensive history of the Texas Pacific Railroad. This page sets a high standard for a community history page.
The best private Texas page on the Web. Especially for Texas history buffs.
A direct link to the governmental departments of the State of Texas.
The Office of the Governors of Texas
A good page for research. Includes information history and current events. Also includes a page specifically for children. This page is also available in Spanish.
- Texas Monthly
A great award winning magazine all about contemporary Texas .
This link is great for those seeking information about the system of Texas state parks. Also information on hunting and fishing regulations.
Texas Department of Tourism. A fun page with lot of Texas stuff. Texas cursors; Texas wall paper; Texas postcards.
McKittrick canyon is the high light of this Texas park located on US 180 East of El Paso, Texas. This park is also the site of the tallest peak in Texas. For the story of my climb to the "Top of Texas" click here.
A huge park located in a natural bend in the Rio Grande. One great feature is a raft trip down Santa Elena canyon on the Rio Grande.
