Memorial Stadium in Columbus has recently undergone a major renovation project headed by a non profit group named Columbus Ballparks Renovations, Inc. All of the renovations to the football facility to date have been done with private donations, currently over $2.3 million. A new and expanded track and field facility should be completed prior to March 2008 through the combined efforts of Columbus ISD and Columbus Ballparks Renovations, Inc. Columbus Cardinal graduates John and Elizabeth Massey have contributed over $1.9 million to the project. (2007)
