The first game at the stadium was played on Saturday, Sept. 6, 1975. The Trojans beat visiting Port Lavaca Calhoun 24-0. The game was played on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. because the new stadium was not yet equipped with lights. Lights were added during the summer of 1976, allowing the Trojans to play Friday night games for the 1976 season.

The first night game under the lights was played on Friday, Sept. 24, 1976. The Trojans beat visiting Port Lavaca Calhoun 47-27.

The artificial turf at Veterans Memorial Stadium was installed in 2014.

The Veterans Memorial Stadium includes an outstanding memorial to veterans from all branches of the military, and is often the center piece of patriotic events here in Beeville.
