The first game at the stadium was played on Saturday, Sept. 6, 1975. The Trojans beat visiting Port Lavaca Calhoun 24-0. The game was played on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. because the new stadium was not yet equipped with lights. Lights were added during the summer of 1976, allowing the Trojans to play Friday night games for the 1976 season.
